Hope Fuels Life
Our lives are infused with pain and suffering. Some people experience more of these woeful symptoms of the human states than others.Yet, we can confound hardships with Hope. It provides us with strengths to conquer misery and despair caused by misfortune. Hope motivates us to persevere, into the darkness, to journey onward, despite the obstacles blocking the trail of life.
Hope is the essence of life. Many of us could not even live a life of peace without having hope deep inside the heart. Life is hard and unpredictable. Things go out our control many times. So, it helps us keep the fight on and improve the chances of making out life better.
No doubt life is a solid war zone. But it’s not too bad either. Try to keep your eyes open wide to dream. Hope keeps us telling that tomorrow will be better, it is an optimism. Hope is not a wish for things or circumstances to get better but it’s an actual belief. Desmond Tutu (Human Rights Activist – South Africa) said, ” Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness.”
Hope reassures us, soothing our minds by reminding, “life will improve”. It’s the remedy for all sorts of hardships and misfortunes. Similarly, it enables us to cope with stressful events. Hope assists the sick people in getting well. Hope also comforts the dying and gives them courage. It whispers ” there’s life beyond the death”. It provides us the gift of faith.
The remarkable importance of hope is portrayed by many poets and authors in various literary works. A classic reference to Hope we can find in Alexander Pope ‘s Essay on Man. ” Hope springs eternal in the human heart, Man never is, but always to be bless.”
Another popular reference is from a poem Hope ,by Emily Dickinson -” Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without the words and never stops at all. ”
Well there are numerous literary works signify the importance of hope in life but according to me O Henry’s – The Last Leaf is an epitome of hope and positivity. It tells the story of an old artist who saves the life of a young neighbouring artist, dying of pneumonia by giving her the will to live. It is an absolute masterpiece telling us that optimism and hope are the most formidable weapons possessed by human beings. The story teaches us: “Life must hold hope”.
Unquestionably, hope sustains life, it gears up positivity. But we know for sure that hope is not something we are born with. It is instead something that we learn to cultivate over a lifetime of experience and hardship. To clarify very little is needed to nurture the hope in life –
– Make the most of self reflection.
– Develop your coping skills.
– List your successes, strengths and resources.
– Have trust in yourself.
– Surround yourself with positive people.
– Proactively seek out Hope.
– Focus on things that empower you.
Conclusively, hope is the reason to strive, to surge ahead. It’s not just sustains life rather fuels life in true sense.
As Anne Frank quoted, ” Where there’s hope, there’s life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again.”
To sum up , Spread hope…it’s contagious. Certainly it fuels life.
